Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

The annual Cinema for Peace Gala honored last week the most valuable films of the year. The selected films feature issues ranging from genocide in Bosnia to wrongful imprisonment in America, from a murdered Russian lawyer to green projects in Mali, and from a house-arrested Nobel Peace Prize Laureate to the conviction of a former Guatemalan dictator thanks to the evidence provided by documentary filmmakers.

The Most Valuable Valuable Movie of the Year was presented by Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Mohamed ElBaradei to the directorial debut "In the Land of Blood and Honey" by Angelina Jolie which takes place during the Bosnian War. Jolie and the cast were also the recipients of the "Cinema for Peace Honorary Award for Opposing War and Genocide".
