Invisible Children KONY 2012 and Beyond Famous

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

The power of film for social causes has been proven by Invisible Children, who were the first in history to reach 100 million viewers with their Film “Kony 2012” in only 6 days, beating any music video by Lady Gaga and others.

Invisible Children uses film, creativity and social action to arrest the african warlord Joseph Kony, to end the use of child soldiers and restore LRA-affected communities in central Africa to peace and prosperity.

On the occasion of the Inauguration of Cinema for Peace USA we held a press workshop on this phenomenon with Invisible Children and The Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court Luis Moreno-Ocampo (please find links below of global press coverage). In December 2011 Cinema for Peace and The Office Of The Prosecutor had awarded Invisible Children with the Justitia Award for The Civic Campaign Of The Year. At this occasion Invisible Children announced their Kony 2012-campaign.

During the Press Workshop Chief Prosecutor Luis Moreno-Ocampo said that he believes that “Invisible Children will produce the arrest of Joseph Kony this year”.
