Cinema for Peace – Monthly Screening „India’s Daughter“

The Cinema for Peace Foundation is showing in cooperation with the Babylon and the “Global organization of People of Indian Origin” the movie INDIA’S DAUGHTER. The in India forbidden movie will be screened the very first time in Germany on the 30th of June.


INDIA’S DAUGHTER tells the story of the Indian medicine student Jyoti Singh Pandey from Delhi, who was raped by 6 men in a driving bus in December 2012. The gang rape and her death triggered international outcry and massive protests in India. The documentary records the rapists’ mentalities, beliefs and attitudes towards life before they were executed while investigating the society and its moral conceptions, which lead to such an awful act of violence. The movie is an optimistic and passionate call for a fundamental change in society.

Entry: free


Subsequent to the film screening there will be a discussion about the movie and the situation of women in India with the director Leslee Udwin and the UNICEF-ambassador and actress Katja Riemann.
