Cinema for Peace celebrates Fall of the Wall with President Gorbachev

In 1989 a peaceful revolution proved that human kind is capable of evolving. The greatest revolution of the 20th century led without a single shot to the Fall of the Berlin Wall and ultimately to the end of the Cold War and the threat of nuclear extinction.The Cinema for Peace Foundation celebrated the 25. anniversary of The Fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of the Cold War with a film screening, a Gala and a symposium - with the man who made this all possible: President Gorbachev.

In 1989 a peaceful Revolution proved that human Kind is capable of evolving. The greates Revolution of the 20th century led without a single shot to the Fall of the Berlin Wall and ultimately to the end of the Cold War and the threat of nuclear extinction. The Cinema for Peace Foundation celebrated the 25. anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of the Cold War with a film Screening, a Gala and a Symposium - with the man who made this all possible: President Gorbachev.

Academy Award winner Adrien Brody hailed President Gorbachev as "The Man of the Century", Artist such as the "Scorpions" performed "Wind of Change" with a childrens choir, while silent heroes were honored including Stanislaw Petrow, who saved the world in 1983 by not starting a nuclear counter attack against the USA after a false Alarm. The auction conducted by Christies was supported by leading film artists such as Tom Hanks, who donated his typewriter.

At the end of the two day conference, a Universal Survival Plan was presented, which filmmakers and artists will promote in 2015.
