Panel Discussions and Film Screening of TAXI TO THE DARK SIDE

On Monday October 19th', in cooperation with the ECCHR - European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights, were held two pannel discussions on Guantanmo Bay and torture followed by the screening of Taxi to the Dark Side' (2007) . This film examines the American policy on torture and interrogation in general, and specifically the CIA's use of torture and their research into sensory deprivation. It includes arguments opposing the use of torture on political and military opponents, as well as defenses of such methods, attempts by the congress to uphold the standards of the Geneva Convention forbidding torture, and popularization of the use of torture techniques in shows like the TV series '24'.
